The Unsung Hero, Fred Flintstone, Alternative Energy Sources Developer (This Is For Real, Folks!) Part 3

By: GARKO

This article is the most recent in a series of such articles based on some web based research I recently did potential alternative energy solutions. These articles can be found at my Water 4 Gas Blog
Believe it or not, Fred Flintstone had it right with his foot powered automobile!!! Yep, this is a major conclusion of my research! The cave man’s only error is that as an animated cartoon character he was he wasn’t allowed to “think” on a big enough scale!
Folks are coming to realize that a potentially huge natural resource for electrical energy is the energy produced in the routine activities that people do so it is not a matter of slave labor camps! From doing nothing more than what we naturally do all the time anyway but by being somewhat smarter about these activitieswith regards to capturing and recycling of energy we can light large cities!
So it appears that ol’ Fred had more going on in his head than it appeared! Well, this is one place where my investigations took me. I also have written other pieces.
My focused goal is to enlighten people about the wealth of alternative energy data at my Water 4 Gas that shows individuals how to convert your gasoline powered car engine into partial combination or total water-based hydrogen burning system. But in the process of that I have become so fascinated with the potentials of alternative energy that I wanted to help get the word out about some of the amazing data I have come across with you as well.
Some approaches include the dance floor in a club that generates electrical energy from the movements of the dancers on the dance floor to energy-harvesting shoes that convert friction from taking a stroll into electricity. One shoe prototype can generate about six watts, which would be more than sufficient to keep you from having to recharge your cell phone battery. Besides Fred Flintstone, another icon of the 1960s was Maxwell Smart’s shoe phone on the Get Smart TV program. This is a new spin on a shoe phone!
Like some of these endeavors, the health club experiment won’t keep a skyline lit or even provide sufficient electricity for the club's own air conditioning. So far they have only connected 13 machines at one of its clubs. When all of them are in use, the power generated would tally up to about 300 watts, more or less sufficient to operate three 27-inch TV sets, 5 60-watt light bulbs or several hundred video iPods. If all the exercise machines were in use ten hours a day for one full year, the facility could produce roughly $183 worth of electrical energy. At that rate of progress, it would take about 82 years to pay off the initial $15,000 investment.
Recapturing physical endeavor into an electrical energy source has a long, odd history (no, we are not actually considering Fred Flintstone to be a part of that lol). The first phones, two centuries ago, were powered by turning a crank that generated an electrical current to alert the operator when one wanted to make a call. Hand-crank flashlights have long been available. So have hand-crank portable radios.
But unlike these predecessors, most of the new approaches focus on retaining electricity that is a byproduct of routine human activities, such as dancing, walking or exercising. Scientists label such devices "parasitic" generators. There are several researchers working on harvesting the energy of crowds. It’s as if someone was watching the Mardi Gras or a World Series game or a U2 concert and said…”man! If we could just harness that energy!”
Enviu, a European environmental organization, is building a nightclub in Rotterdam which will include a dance floor that transforms vibrations from those happy feet into electricity. One possible design for the floor integrates piezoelectric crystals, which generate a small electric impulse when compressed. But Enviu's 400 square foot floor is costing $260,000 while only generating enough current to power some lights embedded in it. So this is more of a novelty than a solution.
A London design firm has been in the process of developing materials for flooring which might eventually be used to collect energy from hordes of commuters walking into busy subway tunnels. In one design, every step on the floor would push liquid through a microturbine, generating electricity.

Allow me to take a second to direct some attention back towards my main activity while I continue with these happy musings in this particular articles series.
WATER4GAS is offering information at a low price which people can use in their garage or wherever to create a small device which instills hydrogen into the gasoline/air mixture that their automobile runs on.
The process makes smaller particles out of the particles that the engine burns as fuel. So the system gets to use a lot more of it.
By doing this you can minimumly expect to lower your gas consumption by 12%. In reality though many are getting 30-50% improvement or even more. Those goblets must have been pretty darn big in some systems before. But with W4G they are made usable so you can lower your gas consumption.
It also helps make emissions significantly cleaner.
This package of info has been purchased by over NINE THOUSAND car owners already and the percentage of happy customers is about 99%! So that's a start!
