For the most part, porn DVD movies are considered to be vintage porn movies if they were made in the 1950s and the 1960s, and usually now includes most of the 1970s. Even though there had been a lot of porn DVD that was more influential made after this time, those had been not easily accessible to the public. The porn DVD is one of the genres of films that has been positively affected by the invention of VCRs, videotapes, and DVDs.

Vintage porn movies have been enjoying a recent revival lately, most of it being thanks to the porn DVD business. There are tons of reasons why the porn DVD is so popular. Vintage porn movies are different than the porn DVD of today, and its not just because of the actors and actresses. A common complaint about todays porn DVDs that you wont find about vintage porn is that it all looks the same. Some of the great things about vintage porn DVD movies have been that they have original titles, real plots and storylines, and the actors and actresses dont all look and act the same.

The first of the big vintage porn DVD movies that opened the door for all other movies was one titled Boys in the Sand. It was directed by Wakefield Poole and was released in December of 1971. Back at this point in time, many of the vintage porn movies that were shot, and mostly those that were gay vintage porn DVD movies, were shown in public theaters that specifically showed only vintage porn movies. As a result, many of the people who saw these vintage porn movies wound up having instances of their own!

Something great about vintage porn DVD movies that is different than the pornography of today is that in the vintage era, what you saw was what was real. The womens bodies that we saw on camera were their actual, natural bodies. There were no fake breasts or augmented rear ends in vintage porn DVD movies. Today a lot of the movies dont have much at all of a plot; many times it is just footage of people having sex, or many times it starts with a plot but then once someone in the movie ends up having sex, any kind of a plot that was there quickly fades.

Another one of the great vintage porn DVD movies of the 70s was Deep Throat. This came out shortly after the Boys in the Sand movie, and actually surpassed it in box office sales. These two movies together really blew the lid off of the pornography industry, and from then on out, there was no turning back. Although protests and the public and people tried to discourage pornography, it was to no avail.

In the early 1980s and 1990s, the AIDS crisis for a while looked like it was going to put a halt to those vintage porn DVD movies. Today, however, vintage porn movies are becoming more popular than ever, and they are now being re mastered and digitalized to formats such as the VHS tapes, the DVD, and BluRay discs.
