Bonfire night as most people know originated from the gunpowder plot when Guy Fawkes and his men attempted to blow up the houses of parliament.
The men were angry about the way the Catholic people were being treated in England. The men put 36 barrels of gunpowder in the Houses of Parliament and they waited for the King to open Parliament. Guy Fawkes and his friends were a group of Catholic extremists who desired to return England to the Catholic faith. They formulated a plan known as the 'Gunpowder Plot', intending to blow up the Houses of Parliament along with King James the first, and everyone in government. He had joined with a group of four other Catholics led by Robert Catesby in the plot to kill the king. Catesby had made the mistake of inviting other Catholics to join the plot.

Thus commemorating the Gunpowder plot on November 5 fortuitously gave English Protestantism a handy early winter festival to replace the discarded Catholic ones, with bonfires and fireworks instead of church-illuminating candles. And possibly that is how bonfire night will survive - an early winter festival in which we light fires, let off fireworks and enjoy ourselves in defiance of what, as northern Europeans, we know the next few months will hold for us.

However, amongst the fun of bonfire night there is also tragedy. According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 1,140 people were seriously injured in the UK last year, over the four-week period around Bonfire Night, compared with 1,017 injuries the previous year. Those injured at private party's rose from 363 in 2002 to 515 last year.

Pipe cleaners (coloured craft ones), Metallic coloured beads or sequins and glue. Double sided sticky tape to fix the covers to your body.

Bend the pipe cleaner round so that it makes a spiral. The hole at the centre should be big enough to fit around your nipple.

Then thread on the beads and space them evenly around the spiral Or glue a few sequins onto the spiral and leave to dry.

If the nipple cover needs help to stay in place, use a bit of double sided sticky tape to hold it in place.

To make the Sparkler Tickler you will need...
4 Bamboo skewers, Glue, and a luxury Gift Bow.

Glue the 4 skewers together length ways to form the sparkler 'stick'. Temporarily hold the skewers together with pegs until the glue dries.

Stick the luxury gift bow to the stick where the four skewer points meet. Trim off any excess sticky that is attached to the gift bow.

For extra sparkle on your sparkler, dab the tips of the gift bow with glue and sprinkle on glitter.

Stroke the sparkler tickler on your lover's naked body to tease and excite them.
