The Parrot Key Resort in Key West, Fla., recently opened in the historic Old Town area. The luxury-boutique resort is the latest development by Singh Resorts. It is a lavish mixed-use development set on five acres with four private swimming pools. There is a museum-like garden with various sculptures and a complementing art collection on site that is comprised of works from local and globally acclaimed artists. The eclectic ensemble contains pieces by Andy Warhol, sculptor Marc Chagall, painter Lorraine Shemesh, contemporary Russian painters Vladimir Dubossarsky and Alexander Vinogradov, Vermont sculptor Barbara Kaufman, and Indian sculptor K.S. Radhakrishnan. The Parrot Key Resort has three-story, one-, two-, and three-bedroom beach houses that include gourmet kitchens, first- and second-level private porches with waterfront views, 42-inch plasma-screen televisions, and DVD/sound systems. The classic Conch-style houses have high-speed Internet access and media rooms with extra space for additional guests. There also is a full spa and a private beach on the premises. The resort's concierge can arrange for guests to customize their Key West experience. There are water sports, sightseeing tours, and various museums to see: swim with dolphins; kayak; golf at the Key West Golf Club; shop at Mallory Square; visit St. Paul's Church, the Southernmost Point, and the Key West Cemetery.
