Decisions
Decide on what it is that you actually need first. For someone who has just moved to a new house, maybe a patio set is needed but if you already have a garden patio established in your home, you might just need the few odd pieces to complete your collection.

Budget
You may be aware to the fact that you will be spending more if you choose teak compared to acacia, cedar, or oak. Don’t worry; it is not your lost as the money is worth every penny when you spend it on teak as it is much stronger and durable.

Where to Buy
Numerous websites offers good deals and bargains on outdoor furnishings. Some Teak Furniture Manufacturers offer wholesale items. Classic Teak “specializes in fine quality teak patio furniture & garden furniture at substantial discounts from the high end retail store locations.” It is recommended to do research and make a price survey before making a decision.

Care
After you have bought the teak furniture, you should now decide whether your furniture would be keeping its well maintained look by applying teak oil or you’d just leave it be and let nature takes it course.

Teak oil will do a good job of coating your teak furniture. It has the ability to prevent damages from exposure to the sunlight as well as protecting the wood from stains. To coat your furniture, simply apply the oil onto the surface of the furniture starting form to bottom using a paint brush. Should you need a second coating, leave the first coating to dry first for an hour or so. You should not be applying oil on accumulated oil or dirt for it will darken the wood. The last step is to buff the coated furniture with dry cloth.

You can use very fine sand paper to restore the teak’s natural color by working it in the direction of the grain. If you want to clean your teak furniture, use soft bristled brush and mild soapy water. Don’t use fine steel or wired bristle for they can damage the surface and the wire pieces can be embedded on causing the wood to discolor. Be sure to thoroughly rinse afterwards.

Storage of Teak
The storage of teak furniture should depend on the climate of the place you live. Some furniture is designed in such a way that they can be folded so as to save space and for storage convenience. The furniture can then conveniently place indoors during the intense winter or cold days. Besides this you can also cover your furniture to protect them. Bear in mind that teak is durable and is able to withstand most extreme weather making it is your choice whether to store them or not.

Add beauty and dimension to your yard, garden or patio with teak outdoor furniture. Not the cheapest furniture to have but will last for a very long time. Without doubt, settling with premium teak is an investment definitely worth every penny.
