All About Fashion Shows

Fashion shows are the idyllic venues for releasing fashion fury into the world. Fashion shows are fashion industry events that are for fashion designers, or houses, to display their latest fashion trend collections in runway fashion shows. Buyers, celebrities, ordinary people, and also, of course, the media, make special arrangements to go to fashion shows to take a look at latest trends. And fashion shows always have the answers to the important questions in fashion, like What is in and what is out this year. The fashion shows will certainly have the answers to that for you. The most popular and most respected fashion shows are often held in cities like Paris, New York, London, or Milan.

The earliest of the fashion shows as we know them today was one that was part of the earliest Fashion Week, held in New York City in 1943. The purpose of that fashion week was to distract attention from the enemies during World War II, when fashion designers of the day could not travel to Paris to take part in the French fashion shows. A woman by the name of Eleanor Lambert, who was a fashion publicist, began her own event that she called Press Week to show American designers work to journalists. Little by little, fashion magazines like Vogue began to fill pages with American fashion designs. Previously, Vogue had featured French designs and fashion shows.

After the war, people returned to Paris and to the other fashion superpowers of London and Milan for the new fashion shows that started to emerge. At this point in time, these four cites controlled the fashion world, and continue to control it today. Buyers and everyone else involved in the fashion world enjoy the fact that the location of the four fashion show cities make it convenient to fly from one to another for the fashion shows.

The one major criticism of the fashion shows in the four capitals is that talented designers from emerging fashion shows in places like Los Angeles or S Paulo do not get the same recognition as the designers that show in the four fashion show capitals of Paris, London, Milan or New York. So, although they may possess great talent for fashion shows, the opportunities for them to showcase this are hard to come by.
